Frequently Asked Questions HOW CAN I PURCHASE A BOAT OR ACCESSORIES FROM MARCO POLO BOATS? Marco Polo Boats sells directly from its website www.marcopoloboats.com. We accept corporate checks (with credit references), money orders, wire transfers, Visa, MasterCard, Discovery, and American Express. Payment must be received before your boat or accessory is shipped. Please mail corporate checks or money orders to Marco Polo Boats, Inc, 1911 Smallbrook Drive, Troy, Michigan 48085, USA. IS MY INFORMATION PRIVATE AND SECURE? None of your information will be shared with any other business not involved in delivering the boat to you. Your on-line payment information is secure through SSL encryption (on-line shopping cart soon to come). IS SALES TAX CHARGED? MarcoPoloBoats.com is headquartered in Michigan and must collect 6% sales tax from customers residing in Michigan. If you reside in another state, province, or country, it is up to you to comply with local applicable sales or use tax regulations. WHAT IF I CHANGE MY MIND AFTER I ORDER? Regular orders may be cancelled without penalty within 24 hours. Cancellations accepted after this period will incur a cancellation charge and possibly a factory restocking fee. WHAT ABOUT DELIVERY? Marco Polo Boats will arrange for delivery of your boat and trailer via our approved boat delivery partner companies or a common carrier. In most cases delivery will be to your driveway. If the delivery truck is unable to get to your address due to vehicle access restrictions, arrangements will be made to unload the boat at a near-by public space, such as a parking lot or boat dock. Boats are generally delivered in 7-10 days. Expedited delivery is possible at added cost (see the Shipping and Handling page). In cases of remote deliveries additional charges and delivery times may apply. The boat delivery specialist will call you in advance to set up a delivery time. YOU MUST BE PRESENT AT THAT TIME. Drivers are unable to wait or return with your boat. Missing your appointment will likely incur additional charges and delay of several weeks. Most accessories purchased on our website are delivered via UPS Ground unless otherwise specified by you. Delivery charges are in addition to the price of the boat or accessories. Please refer to the Order Form pages for costs to your location. To reduce the delivery costs the Lario’s arch is packed inside the boat. Assembly is easy and best done with two people. It should take about forty-five minutes. Instructions are included. WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE A MISSING OR DAMAGED PART? At the time your boat is prepared for shipping, a signed check list of all components is placed in the boat. If a part is missing or is damaged, please send an e-mail to customerservice@marcopoloboats.com. WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY BOAT IS DAMAGED WHEN IT ARRIVES? It is very important that you inspect your boat thoroughly when it arrives. If you see any damage to the boat, describe it in writing on all copies of the bill of laden before the driver leaves. Likewise note if any major components listed did not arrive. If possible take pictures, and send them via e-mail so we can have a complete damage report on file. If there is extensive damage to your boat, such as a hole from a fork lift, reject the delivery and notify Marco Polo Boats. A replacement boat will be sent to you. You must note in writing on the bill of laden all and any damage to the boat or missing components at the time of delivery. Once you accept the boat the delivery service is relieved of responsibility. DOES THIS BOAT NEED TO BE REGISTERED? Most states require boats to be registered, and there are laws and safety procedures you must follow. Marco Polo Boats is confident that you will enjoy the style, workmanship, and fun of our boats. If, however, you think you chose the wrong boat for your needs, you may return the undamaged boat within seven days for a 15% restocking fee plus freight costs. Please note that the return freight costs may be significantly higher than the delivery charge due to single boat delivery rates.
